Club Professional Rob McConnell said although visitors could not win a Medal they would compete for great prizes in the monthly single-stroke event.

“The top 3 players from each event will also be invited back to participate in our end-of-year Maleny Summit Challenge (series final) in December,” Rob said.

“We’ve established this competition to appeal to golfers keen to test their skills and abilities against course architect Graham Papworth and the championship set-up by our award-winning Superintendent Mick McCombe.”

Inspired by Kooralbyn Valley’s famed Copperhead Challenge, the first Maleny Mountain Challenge will be held on Saturday, 26 March 2022 and the top three each month will be invited back to play in the annual Summit Challenge final in December.

Subsequent competition dates for 2022 have been set for  Saturday April 30, May 28, June 25, July 30, August 27, September 24, October 29, November 26 and  December 17.

Prizes include a dozen Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls for the winner of each event and a sleeve of Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls for anyone who can beat their handicap! The winner of the Summit Challenge Final will win a one year Gold Membership at Maleny Golf Club (valued at $825) with the runner up receiving a Titleist Tour Bag (valued at $500)!

The Par 69 course is comprised of three Par 5s, 9 Par 4s and 6 Par 3s featuring unique revetted greenside bunkering, Tiffdwarf Bermuda Grass greens and Kikuyu fairways within a peaceful, scenic hinterland setting.

Motorised carts are available for hire but early bookings via the Golf Shop (07 5499 9960) are recommended. We look forward to welcoming you with some good old fashioned country hospitality.
