Maleny Golf Club is challenging all competition golfers to take their game to new heights and play our testing Maleny Mountain Challenge off the Sunshine Coast Hinterland course’s Championship Tees. The Maleny Mountain Challenge is a series of monthly single stroke golf events (open to members and visitors) to be held in conjunction with our regular Mens' Monthly Medal on the last Saturday of each month.
Club Professional Alison Munt said although visitors could not win a Medal they would compete for great prizes in the monthly single-stroke event.
“The top 3 players from each event will also be invited back to participate in our end-of-year Maleny Summit Challenge (series final) in October,” Alison said. “We’ve established this competition to appeal to golfers keen to test their skills and abilities against course architect Graham Papworth and the championship set-up by our award-winning Superintendent Mick McCombe.”
Inspired by Kooralbyn Valley’s famed Copperhead Challenge, the first Maleny Mountain Challenge was held held on Saturday, 26 March 2022 and the new season commenced November 2022. The top three each month will be invited back to play in the Summit Challenge final in September.
The winner of the Summit Challenge Final will win a one-year Gold Membership at Maleny Golf Club (valued at $990) with the runner up receiving a Titleist Tour Bag (valued at $500)!
The Par 69 course is comprised of three Par 5s, 9 Par 4s and 6 Par 3s featuring unique revetted greenside bunkering, Tiffdwarf Bermuda Grass greens and Kikuyu fairways within a peaceful, scenic hinterland setting.
Motorised carts are available for hire but early bookings via the Golf Shop (07 5499 9960) are recommended. We look forward to welcoming you with some good old fashioned country hospitality.
